The world famous crags and cliffs of Snowdonia, North Wales, contain some of the best and well known rock climbing routes in the country. A historically rich climbing venue, the names and annecdotes of times gone by make compelling reading - The first ascent of Hope on the Idwal slabs by Mrs E H Daniells in 1915, originally named Minerva "to mark the fact that it came from feminine skill and prudence"; the exploits of Joe Brown and Don Whillans; Ron Fawcett's "come on arms, do your stuff" on the first, and televised, ascent of Lord of The Flies on Dinas Cromlech to name but a few.
Ideal for beginners or for those who have done a bit of climbing, there is a rock climbing venue to suit every need in Snowdonia. Easily accessible roadside crags, magnificent mountain crags and stunning seacliffs-Snowdonia has it all.
